Internationally trained doctor, NHS Clinical Research Assistant, MPH graduate, and the person behind Scrubs to Studies.
I am an internationally trained doctor. When I came to the UK, I started as a Clinical Support Worker caring for patients with dementia on the ward. Today I am a Clinical Research Assistant working on NIHR portfolio studies in dementia research, and I hold a Master of Public Health with Distinction.
I know the IMG journey from the inside: the plan you arrive with, the waiting, and the moment you realise there are paths no one told you about. Clinical research became mine.
Breaking in was not quick. It took me a full year from my first application. I spread myself across medicine, public health and research for too long, and it was only when I picked one lane that things moved.
Two industry professionals guided me along the way. I promised myself I would do the same for others, and Scrubs to Studies is that promise.
Everything I share is practical, honest and built from what actually works inside NHS research: how the roles work, how applications are scored, and how to prepare for interviews. No fluff, and no promises I cannot keep.
